Set within the beautiful Rouge Valley is the Toronto Zoo, home to over 5,000 animals representing over 460 species. At 287 hectares, this is one of the largest zoos in the world, and attracts well over a million visitors each year.
More than 10 km (6 miles) of trails offer visitors the opportunity for incomparably gratifying walks through some of our region's loveliest terrain, while viewing exhibits from six zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Eurasia and the Canadian Domain. Those who would rather ride can take the Zoomobile.
And of course, the Toronto Zoo offers an abundance of activities for children, including face painting, camel and pony rides, and rides that simulate swimming with dolphins, climbing a mountain canyon, or treking through an African rainforest.
